Sheet Metal Foreman
Job Summary
Responsible for Sheetmetal construction field installation activities with an emphasis on labor productivity, quality, timely installations, and teamwork. This requires close coordination with the project team. The position is also responsible for jobsite safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Follows all rules and procedures required by SPC; ensures Sheetmetal staff follow procedures and policies.
- Communicates with contractors on various projects to ensure they achieve quality work in a timely manner.
- Communicates with SPC staff and provides feedback to staff regarding the status of the project.
- Instructs Sheetmetal staff in the techniques and procedures employed in the Sheetmetal trade.
- Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of the Sheetmetal staff engaged in the installation, modification, and/or repair of Sheetmetal systems.
- Inspects work upon completion to determine that staff followed the necessary operations and that work conforms to specifications.
- Acts as a working supervisor in cutting, assembling, and installing ductwork, including:
- Single and double wall round and flat oval spiral or flanged
- Standing S, slip and drive rectangular or round snap lock
- Flexible duct
- Capable of sealing the duct to achieve the specified duct sealing requirements.
- Good understanding of duct pressure classifications.
- Capable of performing HVAC air duct leakage tests with little assistance.
- Ability to field measure and order duct.
- Assist with daily reports.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years industrial/commercial Sheetmetal experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Work Environment
